A few months ago, in early 2019, Urban Thai was happy to welcome the Camel Hospitality Group (of Bull & Claw, El Luchador, D.O.C. and more) in the Urban Thai adventure. After several months of operations and collaboration, the idea to expand and open a new location became clear when Camden Hauge (of Egg, Bird, Bitter) shared how she was struck by the flavors of Northern Thai cuisine on her travels and wanted to bring a taste of it to Shanghai.
KIN Urban Thai Kitchen was born.
'KIN' means 'to eat' in Thai in addition to denoting 'family' in English.
"Expect delicious dishes that riff on Northern and Northeastern Thai staples, simply presented but electric in flavor – hot, salty, sour, funky, herbaceous – and perfect to share with friends and family. The food will also be an excellent counterpart for drinks, whether a barrel-glassed Thai iced tea, an equally frosty beer or easy but inspired cocktails."
The first location will open in late October / early November (2019) on YongKang Road, in Shanghai.
